« on: October 20, 2008, 02:21:21 AM »
Hi there. I have Vista Home and sometimes internet explores stops responding, i have to close it down and start it again to get it going, sometimes it will not respond until i have cleared the cache.

Also, sometimes when i shut windows down, it can take a very long time to close.

Are these problems related?

Does anyone hav any ideas.

Here is my Hijack this file.

I am sorry if i have not done this corretly.

Re: Internet Explorer 7 slows down
« Reply #1 on: October 24, 2008, 03:55:29 PM »
Hello Steven Malcolm,

Welcome to SpywareHammer.

I would like you to try something for me by starting IE7 with no add-ons

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons.

See how IE works for you and let me know.

How much RAM do you have in the system?

Let's also run a scan to check some things out:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe or http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html
Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
    * Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
    * The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
    * The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
    * Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.
