Bug in Intel 6th & 7th gen (Skylake & Kaby Lake) CPUs
« on: June 26, 2017, 04:34:09 PM »
The microcode bug discovered in the Intel chips could, under certain conditions, cause processors to behave erratically, leading to possible application and system stability issues and even data corruption and data loss.

A BIOS/UEFI update, when released to motherboard manufacturers, is expected to fix the issue.   Until then, disabling hyperthreading serves to mitigate the problem.
