scanning and defrag issue

Hi everyone, when I defrag my computer for disk C it says relocating and consolating what does that mean? and also when I scan it doesn't stop, left it go 1 and 1/2 days and had to stop it myself, have the same problem when I defrag and clear browsing history. Windows 8 64 bit OS thank you :ty

Here is a basic guide on defragmentation. It covers just about everything. Some of the terms may be different but you will get the idea.

As for the scanning, how are you scanning the drive and with what?

Thank you for the help as for the scan I was doing a full system scan and using windows defender

Lets see if we can get this fixed. Try defragging your computer with Defraggler.

If that doesn't work, reboot to safe mode and try defragging it with Defraggler in safe mode.
