youtube videos
« on: January 28, 2014, 10:01:02 PM »
When ever I try to watch a video on youtube weather it be music or voice.  The sound is running faster than the actions.  Off sync.  How can I fix this ?  I did a Avast virus scan, malwarebytes, Ccleaner, scan disc, disc defrag, and even did a system restore.  It seems to be doing it in both Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer.  Nothing has seemed to work.  I even let the video buffer through.  Still does it.     Thanks

Hi summer990,
It appears that you are not alone:   http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/youtube/kSY2q73Qmqg

Have you tried installing Firefox and disabling Autopager?
Or "Options> Advanced> General> Use hardware acceleration when available" <-- disable this

Firefox version is not compatible with my system.  Dell from 2002.   What is Autopager?

Considering that you are using a system from 2002, there are many applications that will not be compatible. AutoPager is a Firefox add-on that loads the next page of a website as soon as you reach the end of the current page.

We do need some more specs on your system.

Please download and install Speccy. Once that is done, then start it up. Once it is done analyzing, click on File and then on Save Snapshot. Save the snapshot to your desktop and then right click on it and select Send To and then Compressed (Zipped) Folder. Now attach that zipped file to a reply.

Tried to download Speccy.  Got all kinds of malware.  Now when I go to open Google Chrome I get 2 browser windows opening.  My home page and another page.  I did a system restore about 6 of them.  Ran updated version of Malwarebytes.  Spent over 3 hours trying to back to where it was.  Not downloading anymore stuff.  Everytime I do...seems I get malware, and corrupt files.     Tell me how to get only 1 window opening with Google Chrome please.  Also youtube still running off speed.

Seems I got everything else running okay.  Google Chrome opening only 1 window with normal home page.  Only problem still having...youtube videos not running at correct speed.

When you click on the Speccy link in my last post did the page look like this?

Try clicking on the link in my post above and see if it takes you to the piriform site. If it does, downloading from there is safe.  I do it myself.

I clicked on your link before.  It's the same screen as before.  It does give 2 options download from hippo.com   or  piriform.com .   Last time I downloaded from the hippo.com.   Afraid to down load the one from piriform.com.

Sorry, misunderstood what you meant. Please try getting it from the piriform page. If the same thing happens, then that will prove there is a problem with your computer that goes far beyond Youtube video's having problems.

I was going to run that, but now something has changed.  It is not giving me an option for either piriform, or hippo.  Just gives download option.  Is that ok to run?  Also could you give me detail directions on how to do Save Snapshot, and how to send Compressed Zipped Folder.  (How to do that)  I don't remember, or have directions.

Yes you can do the download.

For screenshots there are instructions here.

To compress a file, right click on it and select Send To and then select Compressed Folder. To attach it here, you need to click the reply button instead of using the quick reply box, then below the text box and to the left side there is a tag that says Attachments and Other Options if you open that, there is a file box where you can browse to the file to attach it. When you click post, it makes the post and attaches the file.
