I think I'm going to buy a new hard drive problem is I don't know how to tell which one is the bad one inside the computer.  how much should I expect to spend on a new dress hard drive do you have any suggestions?

If it were me, I would get something like this one.

As for which one it is, it is the C: drive. Once you open up the computer, look at the SATA sockets and the harddrive. You are looking for port 0.

It kind of sounds like a software issue since the system is not wanting to boot up?  if it is a software issue what do you think I should do?

When you swapped the drives around, you have to install Windows on the new C: drive. Your windows install is still on the bad harddrive so the computer will not see it.
