Conduit toolbar and virus
« on: June 27, 2013, 03:39:37 PM »

I just removed the unwanted tool bar by bing, powered by conduit. the main page still remains under conduit. I am told I have a virus on my computer, and need to figure out a way to clean it out. Its a hidden virus, and I cannot find it on my control panel. I believe its malware or ardware. I need your help on how to get ride of this. I also cannot system restore either since i am not allowed to.

The advice you received may be overly alarming.  The Conduit toolbar is not malware in and of itself.  It can be used by malware developers to install malware secretly, but that is true of a lot of software.  However, since you are alarmed, we do need to check your system to both make sure it is clean, and to reassure you.  What you need to do now is carefully read and follow the instructions here: [NEW Instructions!] What Do I Do First?. Then, please post a new topic in our malware removal board here: Post Here for Malware Removal .... Once you do that one of our Malware Removal Staff members will work with you to check out your system.  If there is any malware on your system, we will find and remove it with you.

EDIT:  I just noticed you have already started a topic in our malware removal board.  You can post your logs in that topic, just use that rather than starting another new topic.
