Can you tell me why you installed PC Matic to begin with? Was it to fix a specific problem?
Please download and run Windows Repair all in one. I won't give you the instructions because you just ran it on your other computer. It is suppose to run in safe mode.  http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html

If this does not work, let me know what happens when you try rebooting normally. Let me know what happens after the scan.

Have you been able to run the Windows repair all in one?

Ran tweaking.com. Still not booting in normal mode. When booting in safe mode, passwords seem to be missing. I have to boot as administrator with no password. I have not tried to do a system restore yet. Let me know if you want me to try that.

When trying to boot in standard mode, there is a message that pops up on the screen for a fraction of a second & then it tries to reboot again. This process continues until I press F8 to boot in safe mode. The message disappears so fast that I can not read it.

Do a system restore to before you installed PC Matic, if you can.

There are no restore points available before the PC Matic installation.

Have you uninstalled PC Matic? I also would like you to click the window key and the R key at the same time. Type in msconfig and hit enter. In MSCONFIG select "Selective Startup" then go to the services tab, check the box to hide all Microsoft services, then click the button "Disable All" then go to the startup tab and uncheck everything. Now click the Apply button, then Click OK and reboot the computer. See if it will boot normally.

Let me know how it goes.

Windows splash screen comes up & says "please wait" "Windows is starting up", but it does not go any further.

Is it possible to follow a topic without having to refresh the screen to see if there has been a reply?

Do you have Malwarebytes installed? If you do, reboot to safe mode with networking and update mbam and  run the in-depth scan. Let me know how that goes.

Run comboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

* Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. Also make sure you close all your browsers just before the instructions tell you to start the scanner.

Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply for further review.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall
