Retiree Fleeced by Computer Scammers

FRAUDULENT computer repairers have been busted trying to scam Victorians to remove viruses that don't exist.

Public Defender has obtained a recording on which a scammer phones retiree Sylvia Mallatt to warn her that her computer has been corrupted by an "insecured website".

The conman claims the computer's motherboard is infected and its ability to run internet and email compromised.
