Twitter goes secure with "Always use HTTPS" option

Good news on the social networking security front is that Twitter has finally got its act together to offer an Always use HTTPS option.

If you turn on this option, all of your personalised interaction with Twitter will be encrypted - not only while you are logging in, but also while you are posting tweets.

I would rather both sites address their privacy, say a policy that reads "We will not share your private information with anyone" .

I always assume that everything they can access is shared with their advertisers. The responsibility falls on the members. Anything I don't want shared, I don't give them. FB just announced that they will be sharing phone numbers. Why would anyone include their phone number in their profile to begin with unless they were way too naive?

This attitude is exactly the kind of thing the social networks hang their hats on and use to exploit the "naive" users that you blame. It's naive users that we're here to help...not exploit.
