Sure, just crop it so it is only showing what is needed. No need to include your entire desktop.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine.  Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links.  Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool.  No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Please copy and paste both logs into your next response. You may need more than one response.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note:  You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run.  After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection.  Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

In firefox you need to go thru the addons and enable all the java addons and then uninstall all of them except the 6.0.26 version one. Also the other addons, can you tell me why they are disabled?

hi hoov,  i finally was able to remove all of the incompatible extensions! attached is a new screenshot.

I have another issue now though--- CHKDISK started to run automatically on my (internal) backup drive on startup.  It says my drive "F" is Dirty but it finishes fine.  the only thing i have done to maybe suddenly cause this was install that "add-on compatibility" tool through Firefox which i just uninstalled.  i am going to restart again now.

How is the computer running after the reboot?

I need you to go to the administration tools in XP. They are in the Control Panel. Open the Admin tools, then open the event viewer. Over on the left hand side and click on System. Then up at the top click on Action and then click on Save Events As, type in system as the file name,  make sure file type EVT is selected, and then navigate so it will save the file to your desktop, then click save. Over on the left hand side and click on Application. Then up at the top click on Action and then click on Save Events As, type in application as the file name,  make sure file type EVT is selected, and then navigate so it will save the file to your desktop, then click save. Zip them both up into a single zip file, post them back here in your next reply as attachments.

Well you are having errors on the disc during paging operations.

Can you tell me how large each of your harddrives are and how much space is left on them?

C:  44.4gb used 26.3gb free
F: 297gb used 168gb free
G: 145gb used 786gb free (external- for backups)

apparently the chkdsk started to run on F: following a power outage at my house but i am hooked up to a surge protecter/battery backup

what do you mean "Also can you tell me if you have joined a domain on your network?"
