Is it more like you remember it being before the problem started? If it is, can you tell me what addons you have installed into Firefox?

Not quite, still slower than it used to be. I removed a lot of the unecessary ones but can't remember which ones they were. I know I had silverlight, 5-6 flashes, too many java's/adobe's.

Go to the control panel and then to the add / remove control panel and uninstall Java (if there is more than one listed, uninstall them all). Then go into Firefox and uninstall all the Adobe and Flash addons. Once that is done reboot the computer and then go to the Adobe site and install Flash and Adobe Reader. Then go to here and install the  Windows x86 version of Java. The offline installer downloads the big daddy file so it can be installed on any version of windows. The online installer will install only what you need so it is smaller and quicker. Your choice.

After that reboot the computer and see if firefox has improved at all.

Try updating to the latest version of Firefox and see if that resolves any speed problems. They have changed the Gecko Engine that it is using.
