also, the further i look through this machine, the more damage i find.  my calendar was cleared...all favorites in ie disappeared, and photo thumbnails and files have a "haze".  they open fine though.  i am sure it is in windows media play also since it can open the audio commercials.

is there a setting in the bios that would prevent booting from another devise???
i just redid the whole thumbdrive again...and again...the infected machine will not boot from it.

Do you know anyone where you can go burn a CD from? You can copy the ISO onto the thumbdrive and then use it to burn an image to a CD.

Have you set the CD to boot before the Harddrive in the BIOS?

yes, the cd drive is set to boot first.
