Hi. I just bought this computer and I have no valuable files on it yet. It is a PC Windows operating system. I haven't used such an operating system in a long time, so I was on the internet without any spyware protection (dumb ha ha). I was on line when my browser suddenly changed from Google to MSN, Bing. There is a shortcut to Amazon on my desktop that I can't remove. When online, there is a tool bar at the top of my screen with shopping , games, travel, MSN, Amazon, ebay, facebook and twitter links. I can't even go from one page to the next without zillions of pop-ups invading me. So I downloaded Super Anti-spyware and ran a scan. It found 50 items and removed them. I am on a router. I run Microsoft Security Essentials. My computer won't let me add remove Internet Explorer (I'd rather use Firefox). I'm wondering what do I need to run safely on the internet? Like I said, I have Microsoft Security Essentials, Super Anti Spyware, and I'm on a router. Is that all? How do I KNOW I am protected?
Sincerely, to whomever may receive this message, I truly appreciate the work that you do. The following is my log file:
