Virtual This!!!
« on: November 05, 2011, 10:22:07 PM »
Hey all, Howzit?

I think sometimes the amount of things that you must inform yourself of or about when it comes to computing in the modern age is enough to send a crazy person to the looney bin!!

I had a plan earlier, oh yes I did. I installed Sandboxie in lieu of some form of Virtualization. Then Sandboxie broke and now I'm forced to read some more tonight I didn't want to have to study too much harder tonight. So I had previously downloaded VMLite and in the back of my mind trying to consider what product would be best suited for both my pc's, one Win XP laptop the other Win 7 Home desktop.

I get to reading despite how I feel and I come across terms like XP mode over 7, can't get Virtual PC unless you have premium or ultimate and I just need some help making the choice. So I assume that I should be installing VMLite on my desktop Win 7, but now what do I do to virtualize this machine?

Any takers on advice? I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today!!

Thanks,
kk

ps I'll get back to ya on how it goes if I don't see any replies

Hey Hoov,

That was exactly where I went next to cover the bases so to speak but you know I was under the assumption that the two were alike. They may both have good performance reviews however they are very different in how they look and feel in your OS. Returnil felt more like another anti-virus/malware finder where as Sandboxie is pretty cool you're actually playing, "Inside the Box!!"

Anyway I'm down again with the silly laptop so I won't be too awfully concerned with Virtualization until I can float on the top of the water again. I'm thinking, though slightly ahead....I have several machines several screens I think I just might get to know Redhat or something else Linux based, it's time and I sure am bored to tears with Microsoft.

See me later,
kk
