I am very sorry about the delay. 
I have two computers. The main computer (in my attic) that is hooked up to the wireless router and cable modem works slow on the internet . The other computer (that's downstairs in the house) works fine using a usb wireless adapter.
If I take the main computer off the wireless router and hook it to the internet directly through the modem it still moves slow. This main computer also has two Ethernet cards in it (one of which you told me to put in). I tried both cards connected directly to the modem and through the wireless router.
Could the problem be both of the Ethernet cards in the main computer?Its weird that the computer downstairs works perfectly fine wireless and the main computer internet does not work no matter how I hook it up.

Which computer should I try this process on? On step 2 its says "Click the Wireless Networks tab"  but I do not have that tab on the main computer.

Actually, lets try something that will probably take less time.

Try taking the USB wireless adapter to the problem computer and connecting to the internet thru that. If it works fine, then how long a cable is it between the computer and the router?

Please download and run Belarc Advisor. When it is done running its scan, it will open a browser window. When that window is open you can close it. Then go to C:\Program Files\Belarc\Advisor\System\tmp , there will be two files there. One is license.html the other is the name of your computer. I am sending you a private message on what to do with that file. DO NOT ATTACH OR POST IT HERE.

Well that did not show much. You have one windows update from this month that you need to install. Other than that it does not show a problem. But it did get me to thinking. Try setting ZoneAlarm to not start with windows, then reboot the computer and test it both on and off the internet. When you are online make sure to stay on reputable sites. Let me know how that goes.

Go ahead and re enable ZoneAlarm. Then go to broadbandreports.com and run this test. Then plug in your specifications when the test is done. Then if you go to the bottom of the page there is a link just above DO NOT COPY PASTE THE PAGE LOCATION, copy that link and paste it in a reply. Then run this test and let me know if it passes or fails that test.

is not pingable
from www.dslreports.com with 1024 byte packets. If you go ahead, the test will merely show traceroute information.

Please allow ping at least from lq1.dslreports.com and lq2.dslreports.com (and www.dslreports.com to avoid this alert). See FAQ Becoming Pingable.

The pingable issue is no big thing, it is because of ZoneAlarm. But there is the other problem. Upload packet less than your MTU

Try following the instructions on this page.
