No responses - probably because no one uses it.  I sure don't.  What were you thinking about using it for?

I was just curious, having run across a couple of references to it.

I haven't tried it but it seems to get good reviews.

The first bit is OK (though I'm not sure why you wouldn't just run the uninstaller manually) but the registry cleaning would make me uneasy.  Most registry entries left behind would be harmless and, as they say, if it ain't broke then don't fix it.

Quote from: Revo Homepage
With its advanced and fast algorithm, Revo Uninstaller analyzes an application's data before uninstall and scans after you uninstall an application. After the program's regular uninstaller runs, you can remove additional unnecessary files, folders and registry keys that are usually left over on your computer. Even if you have a broken installation, Revo Uninstaller scans for an application's data on your hard disk drives and in the Windows registry and shows all found files, folders and registry keys so you can delete them.

I added the emphasis to the word "can", and interpret the statement to indicate that can does not mean "must".  The attraction that I saw was the ability to identify and remove "additional unnecessary files, folders" and to deal with "a broken installation" should that prove necessary.  Identification of the registry keys might also prove useful if there were a real problem with an installation, although I certainly agree that cleaning the registry is suspect.

RL

Fair point.  How many times do we find an uninstaller leaves an empty folder behind that has to be deleted manually?  In fact, some of them actually tell you this at the end of the uninstall.  I agree that being given the option to remove the leftover bits would be useful.

I've been using registry cleaners for the past 7 years and have tried them all and in all honesty i can say they don't make the slightest bit of difference in how xp performs. I cant say with vista but if using xp add/ remove is just as good along with using windows clean up
