The videos are still not playing.  I  reinstalled the flash plugin.  When I was installing  Java it said download file is corrupt.  I closed it. Deleted it.  And reinstalled and reran it.  Now it just updated to a new version.

I have tried to download the flash player I don't know how many times.  I don't even get the 2nd screen (security).  It says that flash player is finished.  Java says it's finished and updated.  Both don't seem to be.  Videos still not running.  I went to my CD it was loading then all disappeared.  Had to start over.

Also every time (Every Time) I restart the computer, whether it be Soft or Hard boot (Every Time) there is at least 1 Windows Update.  Windows must send updates out every second of every day at this rate.

I need you to go to the administration tools in XP. They are in the Control Panel. Open the Admin tools, then open the event viewer. Over on the left hand side and click on System. Then up at the top click on Action and then click on Save Events As, type in system as the file name,  make sure file type EVT is selected, and then navigate so it will save the file to your desktop, then click save. Over on the left hand side and click on Application. Then up at the top click on Action and then click on Save Events As, type in application as the file name,  make sure file type EVT is selected, and then navigate so it will save the file to your desktop, then click save. Zip them both up into a single zip file, post them back here in your next reply as attachments.

To be honest with you , from the event viewer logs your computer is running much better. You need to go to this page, and run the hotfix. You have to go thru some hoops to get it, the link is at the top of the article, right under Adding or removing a program may generate Event ID 7023.

Let me know when that is done, and let me know if anything has changed. There may be one more thing to fix, then windows should be fully repaired, and we can fix the plugin problems.

Did you have a problem with Chrome?

Stated it was downloaded to C: then it stated it was unzipped.  Don't know if that meant it was run or not.  It wouldn't give me any other options after that.

Computer running the same so far.

If the logs say it's much better, why am I still having so many problems other than the fix and plugin problems?  How do I know if the hotfix is done?

When it unzipped, it means the hotfix was uncompressed to whatever location. You need to go to that location and run the hotfix.

I have no idea how to find it.  I went to C: under My Computer, the only thing I found there was a hotfix folder with what looked like a Lic agreement (notepad) text document from 9/18/2002.  There is nothing for hotfix from last night under C: My Computer, which is where it stated, it went, I thought.

I tried to download it again.  The reason I had problems with it, is because when I saved it to my desktop, then tried to run it, I got an error.  Q328213 Set up error.  Set up has detected that the Service Pack version of the system installed is newer than the update you are applying to it.  You can only install this update on a computer with no Service packs installed.

After I got that error message I just deleted the file from my email.  I can reload it if you'd like.

Nope. Looks like it should be installed.

Please download and run Belarc Advisor. When it is done running its scan, it will open a browser window. When that window is open you can close it. Then go to C:\Program Files\Belarc\Advisor\System\tmp , there will be two files there. One is license.html the other is the name of your computer. I am sending you a private message on what to do with that file. DO NOT ATTACH OR POST IT HERE.
