[Inactive] Browser Redirection and Strange Folders Appearing

When I try to download COMBOFIX my virus program Vipre blocks at a known bad file (trojan) ?
Could it really be infected ?

This is a problem that cops up from time to time. Various Antivirus vendors occasionally detect it as a virus. It is not. Can you tell Vipre to ignore it?

Hi, sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I have been following up n something.
One of the main sites I keep getting re-directed to is an italian cabinetmakers and I mentioned this to one of my friends a couple of days ago and he said it had also happened to him on his iPhone

I then asked about 10 other people I know and 4 of them said they had experienced the same kind of redirection within the last few weeks where when they clicked on a link and it went to a blank page that said the site had moved and they were being re-directed and they went to the italian cabinetmakers site, also other sites as well.

None of these poeple have ever swapped disks, files, programs or usb with me, ever.

Some also said it had happened on their phones as well.

Could this be endemic to the internet and not a straight forward browser hijack ?

It is possible, but very unlikely. What is more likely is that the DNS server you are using is the problem. Do all the people you contacted get the internet from the same ISP?

Please change your DNS servers using the instructions here. Then Reboot your computer and test out your browser and let me know if you are still being redirected.
