Slow PC

Very similar problems as in  Miss h's post above.
Everything running slow. From clicking desktop icons (opening folders & programs) to various web pages, everything either takes some time to "think" or process and now, often freezes up.
Tried to open & run TFC but it froze, then Ctrl/Alt/Del wouldn't bring up Task Mgr. Had to simply turn off machine. This has been happening alot lately.
Ran Malwarebytes & it found 2 issues (i'm not sure what...I deleted).  Is there some program in XP that can clean up and make faster or one I can download? Possible infection?
I'm running Windows XP Pro.   Only 2 g memory but that really hasn't been a problem till recently.
Any suggestions would be great.

Your best bet would be to follow the instructions here, [NEW Instructions!] What Do I Do First? and create a thread in the malware removal board. Forum rules allow us to only post about certain tools that will be needed to help you on that forum.
