I haven't ever had a Lexmark Printer on this computer, The only printer I have ever had for this computer is a Dell 986W printer.  I checked my available printers and I also don't see a Lexmark printer installed or even available.

The Task Scheduler I have is for my Acronis back up software and it has had problems telling me sometimes that the back up that ran was unable to run.  Why I'm not sure its been an ongoing problem I've tried to fix by entering in the error code but not had success resolving the error.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  I purchased the software about two years ago and I downloaded the install from a link I don't have hard disk to try and uninstall the software and try to reinstall it.

Do you turn your printer off when you are not using it?

About the task scheduler problem, there may be a way to track down the exact problem. Go to the control panel and then to the admin tools and then start the Task Scheduler, over on the right side see if there is an option to enable all tasks history. Then the next time Acronis fails, look in the history log and see why it failed.

I don't turn my printer off when I'm not using it.  It does go into a sleep mode.

I looked in the task scheduler and there was not an option available to enable all tasks history.  I'm able to create a task, import a task, and display all running tasks, or show all hidden tasks.

I need to fire up my copy of Virtual PC so I can run a copy of Vista. I was certain there was a way to look at the history, but I sure can't find it now.

I will try and get back to you this evening.

Hoov,

Just following up to see what else we can do to help rid my computer of any other issues.  One thing we haven't talked about is I have uninstalled all of the adobe applications and installed Foxit reader.  When I'm on the internet with IE 9 I keep getting a pop up asking me to install Adobe Flash Player.  Can you tell me how to get the pop ups asking to install anything associated with Adobe to stop?

Thanks for your help,

mizzoufan

To be honest, as far as I know there is no way to stop that from happening. But you can install just the flash player if you want. Just because you uninstalled Adobe reader and installed Foxit does not mean that the other Adobe programs are verboten.

Also apologies for not answering sooner. I came here a couple days ago to respond about the Task Scheduler history issue, and I lost my internet connection for a few minutes, and when it came back on I totally spaced out the response to you. Anyhow I have an answer for you that may help track down your Acronis issue.

Go to the Task Scheduler and find the task from Acronis. Right click on it and select properties. Now in the popup window there should be a tab marked History. In there should be a log with all the success's and failures. Look at the failures and see if there is a consistant reason for the failure.

This is really the last repeating error in your logs that I know of. If you can post up a new set of the event viewer logs I will look at them and make sure nothing else is showing up.

Hoov,

I'm not sure what the issue is with my Acronis back up software and why it fails to run so many times.  I don't have a back up CD for the software as I purchased it online.

Attached is a log for the month of June 2012.

Thanks for your help.

From the log you sent me it appears the Microsoft Office process winword.exe is what is causing the problem.  Try going into task manager and terminate that process and see if Acronis will do a backup. Let me know how it goes.

Not sure if I did this correctly but I did a CTRL, ALT, DELETE to open the task manager.  I went through all the applications and processes and did not see a winword.exe file present.

Is there another way I can verify the file is running so I can terminate the process?

Thanks,

mizzoufan

You can use process explorer. Run it and then go to find and type in winword.exe and hit enter. If it finds the entry, click on it and then give me a screenshot of the entire page. Then we might be able to stop whatever is using it.

The screen shot was a little large so I attached it to this message.

Hope this is the correct action you were looking for me to do.

Thanks,

Did you find a process named winword.exe? If you did click on the process so winword.exe shows up either in the upper window or the lower one, and then go to File then to save as, and then save the report and attach that report. The text file you sent me does not show the file anywhere.

I looked all through the task manager and unfortunately I was not able to find a windword.exe file.

If you can send me a summary of how to find it I will send it to you.

Thanks,

mizzoufan

Did you do the search thru the process explorer using the instructions I posted above?
