I need you to reboot windows cleanly. To do that please go to the run command and type in msconfig . Once that starts, select selective startup, and then uncheck the load startup items. Now click on the services tab, and down near the bottom of the window, check the box that says Hide all Microsoft Services now go up and uncheck all the services still listed, make sure you scroll down the list if need to unselect all the non Microsoft services. Now click apply, then click OK and reboot the computer.

Reinstall inSSIDer. Once it is installed run msconfig and select normal startup then click apply then OK and reboot.

Let me know if that worked.

I think I have figured out the problem. Go to this Intel page using IE and click on the long button marked Check your System for the Latest Updates.

It will want to install a scanner. Follow the instructions and update your Wireless drivers and any other software it tells you needs updates.

Once that is done, try running inSSIDer again. Let me know how that goes.

The inssider still error (see attached).

I did update my wireless driver, reinstall inSSider (repair) and restart my comp, still error and force me to close the inSSider.

What should I do? Do you want me to remove inSSider and install it again?

I did and the problem still persists.

I removed and reinstalled the inSSider already. Maybe my comp is too old for the software?

It is possible. Do you have an application installed on your computer that shows the strength of the wireless signal?

Can you tell me what the make and model of your computer is?  Also does your wireless connection get disconnected if your laptop is plugged in?

Would you believe that Sony has released a fix for this issue? Go to this page scroll down to the bottom of the list to the wireless section and expand it. You need to download and then run the top two updates. Do the top one first, then the second one. Once you are done, reboot the computer if the installers did not do it for you. Then test out your system and let me know how it goes.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I don't have any idea about the fix.

So far so good, after my comp in sleep mode, the internet went back on right away. Usually, I need to repair it to reconnect and so far, I haven't been disconnected while I'm browsing.

Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it. :)
