Assistance please,
Our Dell XPS/Dimension 210/9200C works pretty well and I've learned how to defrag, have a registry cleaner tool and routinely clean up/delete unncessary files. Recently, the message above shows up and won't go away until I "click" on cancel several / ?5 times?. I use AVAST Antivirus and BESURE family suite of security software which have not shown any new virus issues.
Overall PC works very well (quick up and downloads). We've had the typical windows won't completely shut down "hangs Up" errors to where it will go to a black screen. With a restart it usually comes back on very well. However I've learned that when an error message "pops up" it's usually a "ticking bomb" of a problem.
In reading from the Dell Support site it seems that our issue is related to "HiJackthis"
virus. I downloaded Microtrend software referenced in your site . . . had it run a scan and it came back clean with no problems to fix (I have a copy of the log). By habit when I use software that doesn't have another propose (clean scan don't need the MicroTrend Hijack this tool) . . . i uninstalled it.
Is this "error message" a problem? It would be nice if it went away.
thanks for your time on this.
