[Resolved] problems ghost files in backup 1 and backup 2

Go to the start button then to all programs, then to accessories and then Snipping tool.

Make sure you have the window open before that. Once the window is open, open snipping tool, then Select new, then rectangular tool, then go to one of the corners of the window you want to select, hold down the left mouse button, and drag it to the opposite corner then let go. A save dialog will open. Save it where you want, and with the name you want. Then you can attach the file to the next response.

OK the commands that you need to type in are

cd C:\Backup1\ken\Downloads

And then

del Fw_Recess at the Asylum..-1.

And then hit enter.

And if that goes thru, make the appropriate changes to get to the second file and delete it as well.

If that does not work, let me know.

Sorry I have not responded lately, I have been doing some digging, and just can't find anything that we have not tried already. So now we go off script.

Right click on the file and select rename and then hit the right arrow and type in txt . If that works, then right click on the file and select delete, and see what happens.

If that gets you no where, right click on the name and select properties, and let me know if a properties window pops up.

I know you I had you try to run combofix once, and that it did not run, but it has been updated, so I would like you to give it another try. If it runs and does not delete the files thru the scan itself, then we can try using it to delete the files.

* Anyone other than the originator of this thread, you would be best advised to not run combofix without guidance from someone trained in its use. It is a very powerful tool that can cause damage to your computer if used wrong.

* Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. Also make sure you close all your browsers just before the instructions tell you to start the scanner.

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

C:\ComboFix.txt.it started up and waited a couple hours.nothing happened whil i waqs gone.

Try rebooting to safe mode and see if it will run there.

You deleted the copy you originally downloaded, and got a new copy?

no.when i restored the disc it did it.I finally got combo fix to run.attached is the log.

These are the two files, correct? I need the exact location and name, because we are going to use a script to try and get rid of them, and the path and filename needs to be exact.
