Vista: "No Audio Device Installed"

DELL Dimension E520 running Vista Home 32 bit. Yes, there is a modem card in another expansion slot that I will try swapping.

  I just reread the earlier post and you said what dell you had.

If the Audio card does not work in the new slot, do you have another computer you could try it in?

Do you have it in the PCIe slot? Unless I am looking at the wrong part, there is only 1 slot available for that card, its gray and only an inch or two long.

Here are stock photos of DELL's MOB and Creative Labs' Soundblaster card. The PCI Modem card and PCI Soundblaster card were switched; new hardware was found and installed; rebooted; no errors in Device Manager and still no sound except the speaker hiss.

I sent an email to Creative Labs Customer Support. A utility installed with the drivers which takes a snapshot of the software suite and OS and packages it up in a text file. Turn-around response time is 24-48 hours. Will post if anything is offered.
